How long will it take to change my dog’s behavior? How many sessions with you will we need?The number 1 question I get asked, and the answer is always the same. It depends.  
Here are some of the factors that can affect the length of time it takes. 

• The age of the dog(s) involved.
  
• The length of time your dog has been practicing this behavior. The more rehearsed a behavior is the harder it is to replace. If they have been barking at the mailman for 10 years, one training session, not even one week, will stop that behavior. We have a long-established habit to reverse. 
  
• Does your dog have any training history? If they have not had any training at all that can take longer, because we have to teach them how to learn. If they have a training history that includes the use of fear or punishment training, using things such as yelling, leash popping, smacking, electric shock collars, prong and/or choke collars, etc., we will need to teach them that learning is not about getting into trouble but rather being rewarded. 
  
• How intense is the behavior and what is the emotion that drives it?  If your dog’s behavior is very intense or the behavior is rooted in fear, anxiety, or is an instinctive behavior (i.e. prey drive) it will take longer.
• How much time do you have to commit to changing your dog's behavior? Consistency and time is required to help your dog change. 
• Most people see a huge difference in 4 to 6 follow-up sessions.

How much will it cost me?

Once again, it depends!

• I offer a variety of training options and I will discuss all the options with you to decide which packages are best for the behavior you are dealing with. I will help you pick the package option that works best for you based on how much you are willing to put in work between our visits, and your financial means.
  
• While I need to make money to pay my bills, I will also work with you on what you can afford. I am happy to give you bare bones information for you to tackle mostly on your own. Or I am happy to be there with you every step of the way. 
  
• We will discuss costs and present the various price options before beginning training. 

Does Virtual sessions really work?

The simple answer is YES!

Virtual sessions are amazing in providing great help to behavioral issues with your dog. So many times, dogs don't behave the same once the trainer is introduced. Most behaviors happen because life happens, and you can't "schedule" them to happen without actually asking your dog to do the behavior you're trying to stop. You're trying to stop the behavior so the last thing we want to do is have the dog practice it more! Most behavior issues have to be worked through if they happen and our goal is to work towards those behaviors not happening!

Do you offer guarantees or refunds?

Dog training is a process that will require you to keep up your side of the bargain. Dog training is dependent upon the dog's performance and pace, I cannot offer any guarantee since I am not able to see the future. I can guarantee that you will learn more about your dog than you've ever known and skills that will help you with this dog and any future dogs you adopt for life.
